SERVICES: ESG ADVISORY

ESG ADVISORY

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations have become central to how organisations manage risk, demonstrate accountability, strengthen governance and support long-term performance. As expectations continue to evolve across South Africa’s regulatory, investor and stakeholder landscape, organisations are increasingly required to align with frameworks such as King V, the IFRS Sustainability Standards (S1 and S2), GRI and SASB, while showing clear and measurable progress on sustainability.

Our ESG advisory services support businesses in moving beyond compliance towards value creation. This includes strengthening ESG risk management, improving access to capital, building stakeholder trust and enhancing long-term resilience. From ESG gap assessments and materiality analyses to reporting, policy development and Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS), we help organisations embed ESG into their core business strategy.

Nile

Project Period: November 2025 – April 2026

Project Description: I&S Action Plan and ESMS Development

Nile Fresh is one of South Africa’s most dynamic agri-ecommerce companies – a fast-growing B2B platform connecting farmers, suppliers and buyers across Southern Africa and reshaping agricultural trade. As expectations around human rights, food safety, labour practices, environmental stewardship and data protection are increasing rapidly and the business scaled its warehousing and logistics operations, Nile recognised the need for stronger ESG foundations to manage risk and support sustainable growth.

Six Capitals partnered with Nile to conduct an ESG Risk Review and Gap Analysis, benchmarked against IFC Performance Standards and global best practice.  We then developed a prioritised I&S Action Plan and began designing a full Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS). This work now positions Nile to scale responsibly; with stronger governance, better risk visibility, and a clear path to long-term resilience.
